- finished Alexis Hall's The Case of the Mysterious Letter, where Sherlock Holmes is a female sorceress in a magical city that's partly underwater, John Watson was a disappointing daughter to his father and everything is rather delightfully weird and Britishly cozy except when they're not. (The letter is connected to Irene Adler, who is getting blackmailed on the eve of her wedding and calls on her ex, the dread and not at all pleased sorceress, for help. There is also a vampire with grooms.)
