... Probably, I should have known better than to hope for a happy ending to an anime based on Romeo & Juliet (named, very cunningly, Romeo x Juliet) and yet. There were flying horses! There was a magical tree! There was Juliet crossdressing as a badass resistance fighter going by the name of the Red Whirlwind who protects people from the tyranny of Lord Montague, the sole ruler of Neo Verona! Gah.

Date: 2019-10-04 05:36 pm (UTC)Oh, but the nice thing about it being an anime with "dragon steeds" is that you know they'll get to have a happy ending when they reincarnate in some other life. You don't have to worry about the mutual suicide of the original play meaning they both go to Hell and never get a happy ending. Of course, I've always hated the original play, but own the anime so I'm more than a little biased.
